Mustache Coaster!

* Mustache Coaster *
Just in time for Father's Day!

What you'll need:
5mm & 3.75mm crochet hook
Red Heart (or any worsted weight yarn) - Black, grey, and 4 coordinating colors
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Abbreviations:
beg - beginning
sp - space
st(s) - stitch
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet

Pattern Notes:
Coaster is worked in the round. Mustache is sewn on top.

*Coaster*
Start with a magic circle.
Round 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in magic circle. Sl st to beg dc. (12dc)

Round 2: Ch 2, 2dc in same sp and in each dc around. Sl st to beg dc. (24dc)

Round 3: Ch 2, 1dc in same sp, 2dc in next dc. Repeat (1dc, 2dc) around. Sl st to beg dc. (36dc)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

*Edging*
Round 1: With new color, sl st in any dc, ch 1, sc in next 2 dc, 2sc in next dc. Repeat (1sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st) around. (48sc)

Round 2: Sl st to beg sc, sl st in each sc around. Sl st to beg sl st. (49 sl sts)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

*Mustache*
I modified this pattern from Makes & Takes by working my stitches into the backbone of the chain.


Leave a long tail at the beginning and the end of the mustache (about 7 inches) for sewing.

*Finishing*
Carefully sew the mustache to the surface of your coaster.

Weave in any loose ends.

All done!

Repeat this pattern 3 more times to finish the set.
